STBA Notable Picture Book!

It’s a bronze for MADAME ALEXANDER!

The annual ALA YMA and affiliate awards were announced on Monday, January 30, and I can finally announce that MADAME ALEXANDER is one of the Sydney Taylor Book Award notable picture books! That means a batch of bronze stickers to place on my author copies, and I am beyond thrilled and slightly astonished!

As I’ve mentioned elsewhere, this book was a long, bumpy journey, and the subject so niche today that I wasn’t expecting many eyes on it. So to receive an acknowledgement from one of the most significant children’s book award committees is pretty mind-blowing!

Three cheers and many doll parts for Beatrice. Here’s to all the kids who get to learn about her now!
